Operation Gabon was developed by the Regional Task Force following Operation Dinghy that identified two close associates of the organised crime group.  Investigations discovered individuals’ couriering substantial amounts of drugs into the South Wales area and following their arrest grams of heroin was seized containing 22% purity having a potential street value of between £58,800 and £78,400.

If the heroin had been cut once to give 980 grams at 11% purity, it would have increased its potential street value to between £117,600 and £156,800.  Both men were sentenced to a total of 13 years imprisonment.
