This investigation was commenced by the Regional Task Force in August 2012 and centred on an Organised Crime Group arranging the importation of Class B drugs, (Mephedrone) from India and China into the UK and subsequently into Wales.
The group used premises under their control in Cardiff and Newport in order to receive these packages.
Two packages were intercepted at airports. The suspects had used reputable international couriers to ship the packages which were labelled as Titanium Dioxide powder or ore.
The recovered Mephedrone had a street value £90,000.
Four men received sentences totalling 14 years.
