A man from Cathays, Cardiff has been jailed after pleading guilty to involvement in the supply of Class B drugs.
A car being driven by Nayef Manzi, aged 31, was stopped by police officers on December 10, 2024, at Junction 30 of the M4.
Two mobile phones were seized from the vehicle. Work by officers from Tarian, the Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU) for southern Wales, linked one of the phones to Manzi.
Further examination of the device revealed a large number of chat threads across multiple social media applications, indicating involvement in the supply of controlled drugs, particularly Class B cannabis and amphetamine.
Before officers could interview Manzi in connection with his involvement in the supply of drugs, he absconded from approved premises in London, where he was residing following his release from prison for driving whilst disqualified. On December 4, 2025, Manzi was stopped by officers from Avon and Somerset Police while driving a McLaren 540C westbound on the M4. He was again found to be driving whilst disqualified.
On December 4, 2025, Manzi was charged with the following offences:
- Being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of Class B – cannabis
- Being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of Class B – amphetamine
- Two counts of driving whilst disqualified
Despite initially pleading not guilty to the drug offences, Manzi changed his pleas on June 1st, 2026, while standing trial.
At Cardiff Crown Court today, Manzi was sentenced to 1 year and 10 months in prison.
Detective Sergeant Matt Jacob, of Tarian ROCU, said: “Tarian ROCU will continue to identify, disrupt and bring to justice those involved in the supply of illegal drugs. We see first-hand the harm caused by the illegal drug trade and are committed to our mission of protecting the communities of southern Wales from its effects.”
